in Canada but a disdemeanor in the US. But if you use your passport to enter
Canada (rahter than a drivers license), I doubt they will have the record
linked to your passport (but don't quote me on this).

如果你住在这样的美国州里,

That being said, I don't believe it would prevent you from entering Canada,
unless you got it as a criminal record which lots of states do. |

Drive safely,
save lives, yours and others.
However, I do think you still have a chance to fight the case to avoid
getting a criminal record for this DUI violation, particularly for the first
time.
If you do get a criminal record, unfortunately it is possible for those
Canadians to figure it out and reject your entering their country.
And if you have to apply for a Canadian visa, they ask you if you have ever
got a criminal record of any kind - You can lie to them, but if they find it
out, you would be rejected for entering Canada, for the rest of your entire
life..

" in the US. It's a misdemeanor.

d****i 发帖数: 2048 | 23 I THINK what matters here is not the DUI itself, but the criminal record
because of the DUI conviction. (DUI is a misdemeanor criminal record for
most of the states in the US).
If the Canadian found you have a criminal record, very likely they would
reject your trying to enter their country.
I heard the US policy for foreigners entering the US is:
One misdemeanor: Block entering the US for at least 5 years.
Felony or two misdemeanors: Block entering the US forever.
