If you’ve eaten at Noble Court (in Bellevue) or think about going there,
please read on…
I just want to share with you the scary experience that landed me in the
Emergency Room (ER) this past Saturday. My family and I were having Dim Sum
at Noble Court, and I choked on a piece of aluminum wire (over 2 inches
long!) that was in my food (鲜竹卷). The wire looked like it’s from the
aluminum scouring pad for pots and pans. It took me over two minutes to get
the sharp wire out of my throat while in the meantime my face was turning
purple, and I was having trouble breathing. I could feel the wire cutting
my throat as I was trying to cough/pull/gag it out. The manager took the
wire to the kitchen to show it to the cooking staff and then promptly threw
it away. Luckily, my sister was alert and calm enough to take a picture of
the wire before they took it away. (I’m not sharing the picture here
because it’s pretty gross.) They made us wait 40 minutes for the owner,
who never showed up. Not a word of apology! Finally, we just left.
I spent the rest of Saturday afternoon in the ER to make sure that nothing
was left in the throat. Luckily, it was only bad scratches, inflammation,
and food poisoning.
Hopefully, you never have to experience this. However, if you’ve had a bad
experience there (especially concerning food hygiene/safety), please little
‘r’ me. |
