Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET- 1) (Downtown)
Position Title: Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET- 1)
Department: Technology
Reports To: QA Manager
Exempt / Non-Exempt: Exempt

Position Summary:
• Proactively manual test Virtuoso's web application
• Write test automation for against web application code( Unit test
and Web UI Automation )
• Champions and ensures quality software, systems, and processes by
authoring and executing detailed test plans and test cases
• Works effectively with all levels of the technical team with
uncompromising standards that are effective but not cumbersome
Essential Functions:
• Build test plans and test cases when necessary for assigned projects
• Engages in writing test automation
• A good attitude in performing manual testing
• Must have high attention to detail and be motivated to find as many
defects as possible
• Individual is a good learner and willing to acquire new skills
• Execute tests and document results
• Identify, analyze, and document defects
• Coordinate, execute, and communicate test activities with program
managers and development teams to ensure implementations support business
priorities and needs
• Maintain ownership of test activities which may include data
verification, reporting, user interface verification, application behavioral
verification, and other test verifications as needed
• Proactively communicate to program management any variances to
project tasks well in advance
• Follow defined software development lifecycle best practices
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
• 3-5 years of experience in software testing
• 2+ years of c# developing test automation experience
• 1+ years testing web-based systems required
• Familiarity with Agile Development focused mainly as an individual
contributor is required
• Sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills
required
• Able to translate functional and technical requirements into working
test plans and test cases as required
• Experience working in small teams with a good mix of autonomy and
accountability is highly desired
Bonus Qualifications:
• Unit test experience
• MSTest coded UI testing and Microsoft Test Manager experience
