The Information School (iSchool) at the University of Washington is seeking
a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer with teaching expertise in one or more of the
following areas:
Mobile Applications Development
Mobile Application Design
Web Development
Information Architecture
UI, UX, or Design
Lecturing faculty focus on instruction and participate on school-wide
committees. They are not required to engage in research. Candidates should
have a strong passion for teaching and student engagement, with prior
instructional experience or potential for excellence in teaching.
Lecturers are an integral part of the faculty of the iSchool with full
voting privileges and are highly valued. The school provides mentorship, a
career path, and candidates will be expected to teach at both the
undergraduate and graduate level.
This is a full-time appointment in which candidates typically teach for 9
months per year (excluding summer) although opportunities for summer
teaching may be available. The appointment is at the rank of Lecturer Full-
time or Senior Lecturer Full-time, commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Applicants must have a Bachelors degree or equivalent by date of
appointment. This position is not eligible for green card sponsorship. A
graduate degree or equivalent, professional experience, and prior teaching
experience are desirable but not required. This is not a tenure-track
position.
