标 题: 生物博士转accounting可行吗？

请教一下版上的朋友们。
本人一普通学校的生物博士，费了很大力气毕业，毕业两年了，一直在博后。但超级不
喜欢目前的工作，而且看不到职业的前景在哪里。现在已经快40了，不想一直这样混下
去，觉得再不琢磨一下出路这辈子就完蛋了。在考虑读个accounting。不知对于我这种
情况，是个出路吗？我这个博士学位对于accounting是利是弊啊？本人在美西北，
spouse有稳定的工作。
转行是个人生大事，谢谢建议先。 |

对Accounting申请会有影响吗？对将来找Accounting工作会有负面作用吗？
真是没想到，这么多年的辛苦努力竟然给自己找了一个大麻烦。

快毕业了，还一个面试都没有。

就是学了这么多年的生物转会计好可惜，不过自己喜欢就好。 |

It's unwise to waste your 8+ yrs academic training + posdoc exp in 生物化学.
I am sure you could find something in your area in not too distant future.
Or you may start ur own busi. If ur spouse has a stable job, u r pretty much
free to pursue your own interest.
Start over from t bachelor level in a totally different field is gut
wrenching in ur case.

发帖数: 217 | 16 Thanks for your advice. I totally understand. My problem is I totally lost
my interest in this field - I somehow could not handle my research well. As
I said in another post, this PhD experience left me nothing but a miserable
feeling. I did not feel any accomlishment. in the later part of my study, I
barely passed required courses with struggle and earned the degree at the
mercy of my advisor. Really shame on me. I lost my confidence in this field
either in research or in business. So I am planning to pursue something
different such as accounting.
My guts have been wrenched up and down in the past a few years. Now I just
want to find a way back to normal life.
I know it is unwise if you make judgment objectively, but the psychological
cost overwhelmingly pushes me to a different direction.
Appreciate your input very much.

Well, I guess you decipher your personal situation better than anybody else
and I respect your choice.
I was trained in certain engineering specialty as well, but due to fate, I
was not able to further my career in that particular field. Nevertheless,
the field I have been working is still engineering and for most part is
fairly interesting. I never envision a career change as dramatic as your
proposed one.
But anyway, best of luck to you and I wish you well!

挪死，人挪活吗？
我博士毕业，找不到工作，只好在46岁去读Accounting了，一样找到了工作，然后跳了
两次，现在一年80K左右，不高，工作很轻松，每年也有忙的日子，但日子很舒心啊。
不过会计找工作时有身份确实很重要。
我对生活期望值不是很高，所以成功人士就手下留情吧。
