Hoho, you got question i got answer.
Last spring I wandering alone in the streets of manhattan everyday at night,
usually after 9 PM.
It is quite safe for most part in mid town.
Places should avoid walking through at night after dark:
1. trails in central park
2. 33st to 14st between 3rd ave and lexington
3. Above 90st
