I bought a pair of old straight skis from a yard sale, only $20. Will try
them next season. Wait to see if I will ski like the one on first license plate. :-) |

for skiing related while LD does shopping. None. It is biking season
now, yet I am still soaked with snow in mind. Can find snow skiing, in
fact my ski rack is still on. But the condition doesn't compare to the
fresh and the daily elevation drop in the winter...
My observation is that there is a resurrection of long skis. But this time
both long and fat, and creatively shaped. Reverse camber, reverse cut, bold

As I said before, I was and still is an old-school. But look at the
Colorado and other moguls skiers; all new style now. It's certainly more
straight downhill and more demanding for sure.
Will give it a try coming winter - the extension and absorption stuff; and
hopefully my knees and lung would hold up for me, ha,ha...

I actually had big mountain skiing in mind when talking about the new style.
I personally am not into pure mogul skiing at all as you know. Yet A&E is
important everywhere. Look at this video below of an local emerging star
skier Kevin O'meara. Does he ski beautifully? Not in the traditional sense
I guess. But very practical therefore beautiful in my mind :)
When the boss of our local ski shop demoed a new fat ski (forgot which one),

Here is CA, this is actually the perfect time to camp at Shasta and ski the
lower mountain everyday. Lassen is another fine choice.

ankle last weekend walking on the trail 5 minutes from the parking lot after
climbing hard for a day, bummer. I should have gone skiing at St Helens
where a bunch of friends went.

Weather is supposed to be nice on Sunday, if possible, you should go to
Rainier.
Some of ppl I know are going to Rainier, they are planning to ski down from
Nisqually glaicer, I can not go this weekend:(
