It is 110 miles along a variety of routes in the Alps from Chamonix, France
to Zermatt, Switzerland, and takes 12 days of hiking or 7 days of skiing.
Often described as the most beautiful route in Europe
Any crazies here ever thought of giving this thing a shot? :) The tour
package themselves even seems reasonable - from $2000+ (not includ |

are a lot of companies offering packages - I just googled Haute Route ski
tour, and clicked on one of them:

the ski magazine or some inflight ones, quite impressive. There is another
article that I read about a similar trail in the Banff area as well, which
is a lot closer.

for a very short of period each day.

repeatedly show up at a given slope in the spring, making it easier to hunt
than midwinter fresh pow. I have seen folks move from lower mountain to
higher mountain on the same day so that they always get the best out of a
spot.
btw, the corn snow at backcountry is very different from the slushy snow in
resort. The untracked snow is floaty, supportive and buttery.
