Ski版 - 请教版上高人，去Vail滑雪住哪里比较好？ |

上周末刚和一个朋友吃饭，他们想去Aspen，所以现在还没决定是去Vail还是Aspen，很
可能会和朋友一块去Aspen。去Aspen的话我会住在Snowmass。

发帖数: 78 | 4 If you really prefer ski-in and out and don't mind price, Vail is very nice
of course. But I find the the neighboring town like Avon is not bad at all.
You get to find a 2 bdrm condo at a very seasonal price and can take
advantage of the shuttle to go Vail or Beaver Creek. There is a decent
Chinese restaurant there as well.
We are going at last week of March. This time we would like to try places
another then those along the I-70 corridor. Any suggestions, Winter park,
Steamboat?

发帖数: 408 | 5 For the last 3 seasons, we stayed in lionshead inn.

It is within walking distance to the Gondola. It has self service ski
storage, and free breakfast. Nothing fancy, but it is very convenient since
the free vail bus stop is also just right outside, all the shops/restaurants
in lionshead are within a short walk (as well as an iceskating rink). Not
sure if it is still there though since it was scheduled to be rebuilt as a
much fancier hotel. (Ritz Carlton is just nextby and even further from the
Gondola). We are not going there this season since my daughter's spring
break is very late in April.
Try to get rooms in the main building facing the mountain, less noisy from
the highway, and the rooms are better.
There is a Marriot just right across the street, even closer to the gondola.
I saw their hotel staff used luggage cart to carry skis for the guests.
Nice but completely unnecessary. The fanciest hotel there is Arabelle(
spelling?).

If you want to try places away from I-70, I would recommend Aspen/Snowmass,
Telluride and Crested Butte. I've been to Snowmass and Telluride and they
are both very nice resorts with lots of ski-in/ski-out rentals. I've not
been to Crested Butter but one of my friends goes there from East Coast
almost every year and spoke highly of that place. Hope that helps. ;)

发帖数: 1917 | 7 Thank you! This is great info. I saw lionshead-inn on internet but didn't
pay much attention to it because I've never heard of it. Can I ask you how
far the walk is to the Gondola? Is it too far for kids to walk with ski
boots?

100 yards "door to door". Last year,
we had 5 families staying in the inn. Some kids are as young as 5-6 yr old.
They all walked back and forth in
their boots everyday for the whole week. But if you stay in Marriott
Lionhead, it should cut the walk by half. Or
Arabelle, which is literally ski-in/out.
Vail is my favorite, I wish I can go every season. I was actually planning
to go on my own, but the snow in lake
tahoe was so good until two weeks ago, too late for me to plan the trip.
