发帖数: 3311 | 1 Today is 9-11 (2011). I had a little hike from Snowbird Center to the top
of Hidden Peak (end of the Tram) along Peruvin Gulch trail. Totally
4miles,
2900ft gain to 11,000ft, and ~250pix on the way.
On the way up I passed by a memorial for Heather Gross (27 years old) who
was killed 12/14/08 by an inbound avalanche.
Snowbird is hosting OktoberFest and they have all the German bier, band,
contest, and fun stuff. It was quite a relaxation at the end of the day! |

snowbird.
The area was avalanche controlled before opening, and many people has skied
before her, pure tragedy.

It was an early season not too much snow yet. She was one of the group
people went down from the cliff above and triggered an avalanche, everyone
else survived but her.
