发帖数: 410 | 1 各位高手，小弟上周换了副ski从volkl ac3换到了ac50，板宽了不少，而且长度从
170cm换到了177cm，我身高182的样子。本来觉得原来的板控制的很自如了，想换副
advanced一点的以后去powder的雪场也能应付，但上周去试了一下好不适应啊。
我水平应该算是intermediate to advanced，用原来的板可以自如得下任何不带包的道
，short turn也比较平滑。mogul可以下小一点的，有些不稳，但可以完整得下整个一
条道的。换了新skis怎么感觉水平一下下降了两个level，平行转弯的时候觉得板一点
都不稳，short turn也觉得很难控制，上周去了个中部的雪场连蓝道都下的有点丑。不
过上周的地面很冰很冰，不知道这个对又长又宽的板影响是不是很大，反正我觉得难控
制很多。
请问这种现象是不是正常？高手们换更高级的板的时候是不是也有类似经历？volkl
ac50应该也是all mountain的啊，按理说大部分slope都可以滑。还是这种板就是不适
合中部又冰又小的雪场？去大山反而performance会好？
两周后就要去lake tahoe了，这种顿挫感让人不爽啊，得加紧练习适应了～

我不是高手，从低手的角度理解哈。这个ski比较宽，比较硬，比较长，比较你以前的
来说，在硬雪上面表现可能不如以前的。如果你滑这个新的ski，老摔跤，可能这个ski
不适合你。但是你没有这么说，过一段时间你适应了，就好了。
你可以在平行转弯的时候，重心再放得低一些，膝盖前倾，二只脚一起用力，并同时注
意用拐杖帮助转弯。

发帖数: 1285 | 4 BreadPaPa - I have skied AC3, and I have a pair AC50. Let me tell you how I
feel about AC50.
1. They are too stiff for mogul skiing.
2. They are not wide enough for deep powder (, but they perform very well on
not-too-deep powder, e.g., 8" fresh powder).
3. They perform very well on groomed.
4. They handle icy condition very well. You got to believe that they are
like super destroyers.
5. They have long turn radius (much longer than that of AC3).
If your AC50 are brand-new, then they have sharp edges. Ice is not a
problem to them. I would say that AC50 is of the top of all mountain skis.
Talking about Lake Tahoe, I am very 鬱悶 now. I am going to ski there in
Febuaray, but now there is no snow there.

发帖数: 1285 | 5 BTW, AC3 is easier to handle, and it is easier for intermediate skiers or
strong women skiers. Since AC50 is heaveir, wider, and longer, it is harder
to steer AC50 the same way as to steer AC3. It requires higher skill to
enjoy AC50. Once you get used to AC50, you will find its power ... it is a set of very powerful skis.

Do you think AC50 cant handle mogul at all? How about small-to-middle-size
ones? I was hoping to get a pair of "all-around" skis to do all kinds of
terrain a little bit. Because I'm in Chicago, it's unnecessary to get
another pair of mogul or powder skis, I go to big mountains only like once
or twice a year.
I bought a "like new" pair of last year's model. The skis are in good shape
so I think grip is not a problem. When I was skiing on ice last week, I did
feel much more bumpy than AC3 which scared me a bit. Time to boost myself up
for the new challenge :)
And can you give some thoughts about turn radius? I know bigger it is longer
the turn would be. I'm just not sure how much different it would be from
AC3 to AC50. Would AC50 handle short turns well? Do you think I can do those
turns as I did in the video easily using AC50?

it will be 10 straight sunny days with 50 degrees up from today. Only 20%
slopes open....

发帖数: 1285 | 8 BreadPaPa - That is not what I meant. I mean that AC50 is not designed for
mogul skiing, but you still can use it to ski mogul runs. Bump skiing is
the hardest skill to master within a resort's boundary. It really depends
on the snow condition and the shape of bumps.
That was my thought about getting a pair of all-it-can-do skis. But I
realized that it was not possible when I used my AC50 in the west's deep
powder and in the east's icy big mogul. I'll still bring my AC50 to the
west though (before I upgrade to RTM84 rocker probably next year). (Note
that Vokel has discountined AC50 this year.)
If you feel the grip has some problem, you might want to sharpen the edges.
I ski in the icy east, so I sharpen edges very often. I always keep edges
very very sharp (like a knife that can easily cut figer nails).
Yes, any skis can handle short radius turns, but the difference is the
effort to turn. With AC3, you can easily make short radius turns, but with
AC50 the turns are not as small as that of AC3.
The video clip that you showed was not short radius turns. It was at most
crusing. With AC50, you can easily do that even easier than using AC3
because AC50 has very high stability.
