d*********e 发帖数: 3835 | 3 I don't think I was afraid of the speed nor the surroundings.
I can't watch myself throughout the turns, so I am not 100% sure. But from
the ground track and limited looking down visual, I think it happens for
each leg during the transition being outside to inside. |

skidding.
至于如何作到到位,对各个动作时机的把握,纸上谈兵很重要but can only get you
so far. You know what I mean. Hehe.

s*******r 发帖数: 1285 | 12 There are some stepping stones for beginners to get to parallel turn from
wedge turn. If you have strong ice skating background, you can go directly
to parallel without learning wedge turn. For general public, the following
are two popular appoaches:
1. Wedge Turn - Wedge Christie - Open Parallel - Parallel
2. Wedge Turn - Thousand Steps (or called Stepping Turn) - Open Parallel -
Parallel

我个人觉得速度快了有时候会不由自主的想wedge, 绿道和蓝道上要平行多了

d*********e 发帖数: 3835 | 20 I actually think it could be the shift is not on time. The inside foot was
probably less than 30% engaged and at the turn, it needs to shift to over 70
. If you body goes ahead of your balance, then this could happen.
It also could be that you are at the ramp of terrain and the unevenness
could throw you off
another case that you are going really fast and the inertial pushes you (or
your leg) airborne. You can often see this at world cup GS or SG

on another note, I think I read somewhere that there are some skiers advocating for direct parallel, even with no exp in anything at all. I think I kinda suppose that view.

s*******r 发帖数: 1285 | 26 Open parallel is parallel skiing with minimal edging movement. When a
beginner skier starts learning parallel skiing, s/he won't be able to apply
edging movements in an effective way. Therefore, some skidding will be seen
in open parallel. The key point of getting into open parallel is to turn
both ski together at the same time instead of one after the other.
Yes, I mentioned that couple times about going direct parallel if the skier
has strong ice skatint background because it prevent the skier get a bad
habit from wedge turn.

d*********e 发帖数: 3835 | 30 my understanding is that in real parallel turns have your shins (lower legs)
parallel, wide stance parallel means your skis are in parallel but your
legs are spread out, and it looks like an A from feet to pelvis |

d*********e 发帖数: 3835 | 35 I see the inner 8 feet being a result of delayed or incomplete balance
transfer, where the inside foot took more than should be load and thus
reduced edging causing drag to ground, anny comment? |
