you don't have to use tire chains if you drive an 4WD SUV. But according to
Cal Trans website, you're supposed to have 4WD and snow tires. So does the
highway patrol actually check to see if you are using snow tires when chain
control is in effect or do they not really care as long as you're driving a
4WD?

发帖数: 6639 | 2 all weather is fine. i have never been forced to put on chains with my all
weather tires. but when the snow is heavy, it is always a good idea to put on
chains unless you have good snow tires. i have a big dent on my door to
prove it.
