发帖数: 15629 | 4 seed fund就是NSF送给我们的钱，不用还了，投资那部分，我们以后要给人家share的。
HR Block的CPA也说不明白，害得我花了近$300做了个personal 的tax return，其实我
自己用软件一个小时也填完了。

is a newbie. I am also shocked you do not have a lawyer and an
accountant to guide you through these issues. Who created the contracts
before you signed???
Lawyers and accountants are not expensive by any means.
For the seed fund, if NSF tell IRS it is an expense on their income
sheet, then you DO need to pay tax as if it is income. However, if the
contract says you provide service (research etc) to NSF and the owner of
