D******n 发帖数: 2836 | 1 As once an interviewer, here are the tips.
1) come to the interview with bare hands, without a padfolio/leather
notepad.
2) don't bring any copies of your resumes.
3) don't dress in suit, wear a t-shirt(for guys).
4) do a lot of body motions, like your are on drug or dancing.
5) Bring no questions for the interviewers.
6) Only speak when you are asked questions. feel comfortable with awkward
silence.
7) Bad mouth breath. | R*********i 发帖数: 7643 | 2 Haha, have you just suffered from such candidates as in 7)? :-) | b*****e 发帖数: 45 | 3 I've been an interviewer too. None of these are deal breakers for me,
althought 5) and 6) may leave really bad impression.
You focused too much on the formality. so what if a guy doesn't dress
formal? Doesn't mean he is a bad on his job.
The only deal breaker for me is that I feel you are not sincere or you
have lied. | D******n 发帖数: 2836 | 4 Yes, i do. It is not about the formality, it is about the respect and
business sense.
Anyway, they are not necessarily deal breakers but with other things
equal, it makes a lot of difference, especially in such an economy.

interviewees should better be prepared as you said.
But bad impression is one thing, deal breaker is another. Your title
suggested that all these are deal breakers, which certainly is
exaggerated. You fail an interviewee in one second just because he
doesn't have a leather notepad in his hands? That's just ridiculous.

But it is not ridiculous at all. At least for our company, maybe for many
companies too, a master level position requires no more than regression or
other simple statistical knowledge. In other words, in terms of statistical
skill ,every candidate really is the same. What makes you shine over other
candidate is your communication skills, team work, attitude and other
behaviour. Dressing up or bringing a notepad is kinda interview standard, it
is really no big deal, i a | i******r 发帖数: 323 | |
