Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision of Center Director, provides support to clinical
research projects at multiple national
and international centers coordinated by URMC. Responsibilities include
assisting Director in
development and implementation of clinical studies, recruitment of
subjects; data quality control;
conducting scientific literature reviews for grant applications,
scientific papers and presentations.
Participate in organization and management of all aspects of study, both
substance and content, and
receipt and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative clinical data.
Coordinate communication between
members of the study team, including scheduling and taking meeting
Minutes.
SIGNIFICANT DUTIES:
Under direction of Center Director, performs significant duties required
of the position:
Assist Director in development and implementation of clinical studies;
conducting scientific literature
reviews for grant applications, scientific papers and presentations.
Assist in writing and organization of
grant applications and study-related tools, and study reports;
coordinate communication with all
members of study team, including scheduling and taking Scientific
Meeting Minutes, and organization of
Minutes and all study-related materials and documents. Coordinate and
perform as needed activities to
support clinical projects and the Center using Endnote, Microsoft Office
including Excel Spreadsheets,
Word and PowerPoint and other research tools. Distributes study-related
materials, draft grant
applications, and manuscripts to all team members, collating responses;
assist with organization and
management of all aspects of study design, preparation, and conduct,
including intake of qualitative and
quantitative scientific data; identify contact and interface with
outside contractors to obtain various
estimates for requested work; assist with writing of submissions to
multi-institutional IRBs. Identify all
relevant survey tools, and assist in development of survey; develop
recruiting plan with research team
for pre-testing and pilot testing; assist in implementing recruitment
plan by making overall contacts
needed at the level of supervisors or mangers; work with off-site
collaborators on implementation of
strategies; coordinate consent forms and other approvals required.
Travel with Director as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in health sciences or a Master's
degree, or an equivalent
combination of experience and training. Experience in epidemiologic
studies, study recruitment and
data collection. Advanced computer skills with standard software and
willingness to learn additional
programs. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and human relations
skills. Attention to detail.
