Job Description:
This position will be supporting Data Management Services within Biomedical
Statistical and Informatics. Candidates will utilize their logical
foundation, statistical understanding, programming knowledge and project
management skills to understand and leverage the electronic data environment
to retrieve information for administrative, quality, and research purposes.
Candidates will create and modify custom programs, collaborate closely with
IT, and interface directly with customers. Primary duties will include
understanding requester requirements, identifying existing data sources, and
the development, maintenance, & testing of new electronic data capture
systems. Database design and the ability to utilize statistical and research
knowledge to support analytic aims are essential.(006264)
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a major in statistics/biostatistics or mathematics,
or computer science with experience and/or coursework in applied statistics
required. Five or more years of experience in statistical, research or
database programming for data management and analysis. **TO BE CONSIDERED

Other Qualifications:
Proven written and oral communication, ability to think logically,
demonstrated initiative, aptitude to learn quickly and time management
skills are essential. Previous experience in SAS or S-PLUS/R is required.
Proven competency to work independently. Knowledge of medical research and
current medical developments is desirable. Applies advanced programming
skills in creating customized programs; contributes significantly to team
decision making; demonstrates expertise in accessing and manipulating data
sources of differing complexities; collaborates on study design to best
address research objectives; drafts summaries and documentation including
tables and graphs; willing to share expertise with others and has at least
five years experience in statistical, research, or database programming. **
