201 | 2 If your medical device company is of a decent size, the general working
environment is very similar to the pharmaceuticals (STUDY DESIGN, PROTOCOL,
SAP, CRF, TLFs etc.). The SAS sills you've developed should be equally
applicable to the pharma setting - if you've worked hard enough to develop
these skills.
For the CDISC part, the most import standard you need to get familiar with
is ADaM. Try to read the ADaM doc and its implementation guideline and do
some programming exercises yourself. Two weeks hard work full time should be
enough to get you started - I'm assuming you understand all ADS specs and
programming processes. Actually, what ADaM has brought to the industry is it
enforces more standards and principles than the traditional way of deriving
the derived datasets. And all these standards and principles can be found
in the official docs of ADaM. You can read some papers related to the topic
published by the programmers from the pharmas. One thing you do not want to
do is to only read those so called interview questions related to ADaM. Do
the reading, do the programming. No short cuts.
You can develop the SDTM skills sets by following the same suggestion for
ADaM if you want to widen your job search opportunity for some companies
might want SAS clinical SAS programmers to do SDTM mapping.
Hope this helps. |
