The risk system developer plays a key role in the company’s ability to
implement new products and
underwriting criteria. In this role, the candidate will routinely develop
or modify programmatic or visual
work flows, define variables, work with XML and scripting languages and
generate SQL with the
intention of promoting mission critical solutions to a production
environment.
- Review frontend (through desktop applications) and backend (using SQL)
data to examine
customer, product and service information to ensure defined business and
legal requirements
are being met and identify any discrepancies
- Use multiple systems and tools to evaluate, track and report product and
service trends over
an extended period of time, and document and communicate any changes
- Review and understand legal regulations and compare to Company products
and services to
ensure requirements are met and identify areas of opportunity – ability to
correctly identify
areas of focus and pull appropriate data to support verification
- Conduct research using subject matter experts (internal/external). Must
take complex technical
and operations information and convey it in an understandable and
informative way to targeted
audiences
- Have an understanding of each functional department’s role and
functionality within the
system and work closely with department leaders, including Risk, Operations,
Compliance,
Collections, and Accounting, to verify customer, product and service data
and ensure accurate
results
- Manage a variety of projects and proactively interact with numerous
departments to review
and evaluate product and service requirements while maintaining a high
standard of customer
service
- Document and Communicate findings with appropriate department leaders
- Effectively perform as technical liaison between Information Technology,
Corporate Support
Staff, Store Operations, and other departments as required
- Build and maintain positive and respectful relations with team members,
store teams and other
company staff
- Assist other support staff personnel as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Thorough understanding and ability to write SQL
- Experience and ability to write software code in a scripting language (Lua
, Java, Pearl, etc.)
LUA is a plus.
- Experience with deploying or managing web services or windows services
- Ability to review and understand compliance regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills a must
- Must be a resourceful individual with an ability to work accurately in a
fast paced and reactive
environment.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, articulate and
communicate complex results in a
high-pressure environment
- Ability to understand both technical and non-technical audiences and
bridge the gap in
communication; Quality Assurance or IT Support experience a plus
- Ability to initiate and manage projects from concept to completion
independently with a
positive attitude, attention to detail, and minimal supervision while not
being shy to ask for help
when needed.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and
develop consensus within
diverse groups
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to grasp technical operational disciplines and procedures
- Strong commitment to provide high-quality products and customer service
- Accuracy and attention to detail a must
- Strong strategic, problem solving, technical, and interpersonal skills
- Bright, motivated, energetic, flexible, innovative, self-directed, quick
