QBE, the acquisitive Australian insurance group, has agreed to buy the
Australian, New Zealand and Asian operations of a struggling US mortgage
insurance group in a deal worth up to A$1.03bn.
The assets are being sold by PMI Group (NYSE:PMI) , the large US mortgage
insurance group struck down as rising borrower defaults in the US have led
to higher insurance claims.
The deal will give QBE close to 40 |
