Like I have said many times, any downward move in the manipulated gold
market will be avenged with a 10X upward snap back once marketing force
crushes the manipulation (and it always does).
So if it really goes down to 1000 (of which the chance is close to zero),
it only means it'd snap back up to 3000 down the road. I kid you not.

The #1 threat to your physical silver is not theft but confiscation. So
you just need to store it in a way that government cannot get to it.

Gold and silver are heavily suppressed by Wall St, Treasury and central
banks around the world. These guys are willing to pull off all sorts of
dirty moves to attack gold & silver to scare investors away. I'm talking
about 30-40% drop out of nowhere in a month kinda rigging here.
You therefore have to have the necessary toughness and agility to handle
that kinda rigging before talking about certain picks.

There are a few ways but none is perfect. You just have to rely on your
own risk analysis and appetite to pick the most suitable:
#1 Gold coins / bars
Pro: Physical in your possession, no counter-party risk.
Con: Confiscation. Theft. IRS.
#2 PHYS (a gold certificate kinda ETF)
Pro: Not (yet) need to pay appreciation tax like GLD. Easy to trade.
Con: A premium charge. Cannot fully trust any certificate.
#3 Gold mining stocks (don't use leverage here)
Pro: Easy to trade.
Con: Easy to manipulate.

they can impose a special high tax for gold/silver trade
so when shtf happens, and you want to trade your gold for food/water,
you get taxed heavily
but it is still better than starving

Yeah, that's why I said people need to have the toughness and agility to
handle whatever government may pull out after fiat dollar collapses.
