Apparently his position is not faring too well lately.
Hedgefund managers are usually quiet and secretive when
things go their way. There is no point going out of
their way to tell the public what is going to be highly
profitable, and they are not known to be altruists.
It is when their financial WMD is not working, or when
they lose confidence in what they are doing, that they
then try to enlist the media and the public to do their
bidding.

That's his indirect and subtle way of drumming up clients.
Scare tactic works, and he knows it, especially when it
is packaged as "advice" --- easier to swallow.
