Bank of America is changing its consumer banking strategy because of changes
in regulation and because it wants to deepen its relationship with
customers, Chief Executive Officer Brian Moynihan told CNBC Tuesday.

The new strategy will be "less about selling products and more about
deepening relationships with clients," Moynihan said.
"Instead of charging penalty fees, we'll charge monthly fees," he added.
The changes are expected to result in additional revenue, the bank said in a
statement.
Starting with December, Bank of America [BAC 12.34 --- UNCH (0) ] will
give customers choices on how to pay for their banking services and will
reward them for using certain products or bringing in more money, it said.
"The idea is taking the fees away from a small group of customers … and
spreading the fees," Moynihan said. "We'll change our checking accounts
structure over the next 12 months."
The bank will restore its deposit business to profitability, providing fees
and charges that are "more consistent" with its deepening relationship with
customers, he explained.
Some analysts have anticipated that banks will start charging fees for
retail banking, which will prevent millions of people from using financial
institutions.
"Our goal is not to move people out of the banking system; our goal is a
fair exchange," Moynihan said. "There's no intention here to push people
outside the banking system." | T******J 发帖数: 829 | 2 Because it wants to deepen its relationship with
