WSJ: IPO Expected To Value Groupon at $15 Billion to $20

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that daily deals provider Groupon is
expected to pick Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as its two lead
underwriters in a planned initial public offering later this year, people
familiar with the matter said.
The IPO is expected to value the Chicago company at between $15 billion and
$20 billion, people familiar with the matter told the Journal.
J.P. Morgan Chase is one of the banks that is expected to have a co-manager
role for the Groupon IPO, the people said, adding that at least two other
banks are vying to be part of the syndicate.
Groupon, a Web site which matches merchants willing to sell discounted goods
and services with buyers, hasn’t decided exactly how much it plans to
raise from the initial offering of its stock to investors, but it could be
as much as $1 billion, according to the people familiar with the matter.
According to the Journal, the IPO is currently planned for the second-half
of 2011, and will potentially be in the third quarter. |

of their mindset. I won't worry too much about its real value in at least
couple of years.
By the way, I believe Groupon's partnership with QQ is boosting its value a
lot.

Compared with potential Groupon IPO, maybe SOHU's target is a bit under-
estimated while YOKU a bit over-estimated. I am very comfortable with SINA
and BIDU's projections if Groupon's 20B holds.

遗憾的是，SocialMedia此前已获得来自美国十大风险投资商之一的查尔斯河风险投资
公司（Charles River Ventures）、网景联合创始人马克·安德森(Marc Andreessen)
、连续创业家兼天使投资人纳瓦尔·拉维肯特(Naval Ravikant)和投资人杰夫·克拉维
尔(Jeff Clavier) 的1000万美元的投资。
SocialMedia 现在最值钱的东西可能就是其域名了，而在两年前该公司曾想取消这个域
名。该公司是最早在广告中使用好友照片创建Facebook广告网络的公司之一，其 2008
年营收为1500万美元，2009年营收增长到2500万美元。一个消息来源透露，著名社交网
站Facebook曾企图收购 SocialMedia，但遭到SocialMedia拒绝。此后不久，Facebook
威胁要采取法律措施来针对他们违反隐私政策行为。
这次收购案最令人关注的并非SocialMedia成功实现了软着陆，而是在交易谈判中所透
露出来的LivingSocial财务、资产信息。 SocialMedia得到约54.5万股Living Social
普通股，总价值为300万美元。这意味着LivingSocial有大约5.2亿股发行股，按照最近
E轮融资中优先股价格5.65美元，LivingSocial估值为29亿美元。
作为美国第二大团购网站，LivingSocial的营收还不及最大的团购网站Groupon，但业
绩也不错。消息来源透露，LivingSocial今年2月份营收为 5000万美元，而2011年全年
营收预计将达到10亿美元。预计Groupon今年2月份营收接近1亿美元，大约是
