HELSINKI—Nokia Corp. posted better-than-expected first-quarter earnings
Thursday and said it has signed a key agreement with Microsoft Corp. ahead
of schedule, but warned that mobile sales will be hit by the impact of the
Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
The world's largest mobile phone maker by volume said third and fourth-
quarter volumes could be hit by the impact of the March earthquake as
suppliers in Japan experience logistic disruptions and there is uncertainty
over the supply of components for some devices.
