695 | 37 My point is: Bail-out cannot solve the problem, it will only
make it worse, because people will not learn. The so-called
'too big to fail' is how those bankers scare you in order to
save themselves.
History has told us that if you let them fail, the economy will
suffer in short term but self-healing strongly a little after.
If you don't let them fail, they will stay there doing exactly
what they did before and cause the crisis again due to exactly
the same reason.
Just see what have happened --- EU bailed out Greece last year,
then merely after one year, they have to bail it out again.
Even they are bailing it out, market is still pricing in an at
least 50% of chance of default. Does it really work?
Another example --- US government solved the 'too big to fail'
by making them bigger. And now they own Freddie Mac, Fannie
Mae, and they are the majority share holder of AIG, C, BOA,
and who knows how many other banks. Two years later after the
bailing out, does it stop the housing market crisis? NO. Does
it solve the unemployment? NO. Does it improve efficiency? NO.
It does nothing but pump up the stock market and commodity
market, and inflation. If the crisis comes back again now, they
have nothing left to do. They cannot make the banks any bigger,
anything bigger will be the Fed Reserve itself.
Monetary stimulation is like heroin. It will make a person feel
good for a while, but it will only destroy this person over-time.
Once people taste it, they will be addicted to it and they will
want it more and more, until they die.

Not to mention shrinking capital base, dis-savings for a whole decade.
That is your oversupply?
Again, over consumption leads to lower savings, lower savings leads to lower
investment, lower investment leads to
lower productivity, lower productivity leads to lower employment.
Lower employment or high unemployment, that is where we are today.
Only way to lead the countrynout of this downward spiral is to increae
