Question about BAC
-- the law suits are total nuts and very damaging, in a couple of ways:
(1) the bank was an outsider of the NYC circle, and that is why it had to
pay premium every single step in its growth from Nations Bank to the size of
today. Can we speculate the lawsuits are part of the efforts of certain
ethnic group which has strong legacy in both financial and legal community
that trying to club this outsider?
(2) it surprises me that the bank pay up its first 8 bil without a pitched
fight, which calls into question the competency of its senior leadership
(3) the AIG claim is in general not that credible, but it clearly shows the
weakness of the bank at the moment -- who knows how many vultures are
circling in the roads ahead?
-- the bank stashed huge pile of cash, two times the amount required of so
and so standard, three times the amount required of so and so reserve, etc.
etc. (Well, if the lawsuits vultures are after flesh and blood, would ANY
amount of cash be sufficient? Doubting)
-- each of LOB (lines of businesses) are not particularly well managed, but
still seems normal, when the econ back to normal , so would these LOBs.
-- huges cuts of staff are in the pipeline, which really hurts morale (but,
hey, the modern multinationals always have at least half of the head counts
be totally unproductive, there will not be a penny's worth of difference in
business with or without them) |
