first, baidu bought pps for 400M and that helps chinese video valuation.
yoku and sohu stock prices benefited from this.
second, this is big. alibaba bough 18% weibo for amazing 586M. This news
basically lifted all IT zhonggai valuation. Sina and sohu are two biggest
gainers.
then, it was rumored that baidu and 360 are bidding sogou with expensive
price. That pushed sohu price to another level.
finally, sohu's PE reached over 30, and investors started thinking "hey, if
sohu can have PE>30, why the heck bidu only has PE=20? and what about cash
cow ntes who is way better than cyou?" For zhonggai valuation, it is all
about "comparing to peers". |
