first time, a Wall Street firm says the benchmark U.S. stock gauge can climb
as high as 3000 — or 50% higher than current levels.
In a report released today, Adam Parker, a stock market strategist at Morgan
Stanley, said the U.S. economic expansion, already more than 5 years old,
could last far longer than many on Wall Street expect. As a result, the
stock market will benefit greatly, giving the Standard & Poor’s 500 a good
shot at reaching the 3000 milestone before topping out. Parker isn’t
expecting 3000 on the S&P 500 in a week, month or even a year from now. The
call is for 3000 sometime around the year 2020.
