screens onto the vehicle screen. It seems you can share multimedia to the
car screen. Perhaps reading emails as well.

The 17-in high-resolution screen in Model 3 is a huge asset and one that is
a huge differentiator from Audi E-tron and other vehicles, who simply cannot
do this.
Obviously, from a passenger perspective, this is going to be a much better
experience than looking at your phone in the car. Most people will feel
dizzy when looking at phones in a car. The 17-in screen will make it much
easier.
From a driver's perspective, this is some more distraction and I'm not sure
how Tesla controls this. Perhaps it can only be used when auto-pilot is on,
but even that it is somewhat problematic.
(2) You can now record and store dashcam video footage by car camera. So no
more dashcam purchases are needed. This is only the first version of this
functionality.

There might be more and more creative use of the screen, now that Tesla has
more cars on the street, they could start a market place that orders coffee,
food, or tickets while in the car, for a small fee. The computer hardware
on the Tesla is miles ahead of the slow, low-resolution and sloppy
infotainment system on other cars. Tesla has not fully explored the
potential. They apparently could do phone integration much better and is
working on that. |
