NYC mayor tests Elon Musk’s offer to make ventilators during the
coronavirus crisis
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Wednesday on Twitter that the company would make
ventilators in case of a shortage during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city would buy
ventilators from Tesla, citing a shortage.
The Big Three U.S. automakers — GM, Ford and Fiat Chrysler — agreed to
temporary shutdowns under union pressure and are looking into how their
facilities can produce medical equipment.
