The TYR Nest Pro goggle we swam in has a smoke tint lens that is curved to
provide good peripheral vision horizontally and relatively good visual field
vertically. There is a textured, molded trim feature to the lens frame that
provides the interesting benefit of making the goggles easy to grip with
wet hands.
This is a moderate volume goggle that walks easily from pool to open water
swim start. Once criticism: on our smaller model there was a lot of room
between the nose bridge and the swimmer’s nose. A trimmer fit might be
slightly lower drag. That said, the high profile nose bridge is entirely
comfortable and secure since it does stand away from your face. That’s nice.
The strap design on the TYR Nest Pro goggle is truly novel and easy to use.
The forward portion is round tubing that passes easily through the sides of
the goggle helping to “self-adjust” the fit and the strap placement. The
strap at the back flattens out to sit against your head and stay in place
well over a swim cap or hair. There is a central adjustment point that uses
two pulled-ends to tighten it. You can snug these up after donning the
goggles. I wager this strap system might be fairly low drag in water also,
with the possible exception being the round shape. This strap system is,
