According to 1040 Instruction, Page 13 "You are married but lived apart from
your spouse for the last 6 months of 2011 and you meet the other rules
under Married persons who live apart, below."

dependents。

since her absence from home is due to business. And it's reasonable to
assume that she will return to you / home in the end
