w*********n 发帖数: 298 | 1 On the 1040 form section 6---Exemption, I still don't understand I should
include myself and my spouse or not.
My spouse and I have a 1 year old baby, and she is a dependent.
My spouse has income, and can't be count as dependent,
So on 1040 section 6 exemption, should I click and choose my spouse in (6b)?
and should I click and choose yourself (6a)?
in that case, then 3 people in my house will be counted for the exemptions?
That would be 3X$4,000= $12,000
That sounds strange.
Thanks very much for your help. | S**I 发帖数: 15689 | 2 Yes for both of you. You have $12000 exemption.

| w*********n 发帖数: 298 | 3 Thanks very much, in that case, we qualifed for $12000 Exemption, and in the
meantime Married filing jointly or Qualifying widow(er), $12,600
that means we can subtract $24600 from our total income?
Is that right?
Thanks very much indeed. | f*******n 发帖数: 12623 | |
