发帖数: 6973 | 2 Yes, he was elected. Before the legislative lection, he was placed at the
head of "at-large election", as opposed to district election. A Taiwanese
voter casts two ballots (besides two other ballots for two referendums)--one
for the former and the other for the latter.
Why is he not speaking? Well, he was elected but not inaugurated yet (which
will be in February). Without the immunity of a legislator, he can be easily
sued for defamation. So he is biding his time.

扁莲共治， 莲太弱，即时红衫军风起云涌，莲也动摇不了扁。昌不是扁，能威胁谢。
何况国民党在国会过2/3的门槛，有罢免权，谢想胡来也没有本钱。 |

a short research. I am in facor of free enterprise. Ther eis nothing wrong
for the bank to be bought. In particular, it has nothing to do with employee
union of the bank--in US, employees have no say, only owners (which are
shareholders) decide. |

罢免不是那么简单的，还要公投。需要50%的公民投票。就是大选才80%的投票率，只要
泛绿的铁票不去领票，就根本过不了。

发帖数: 6973 | 7 I thought you were wrong so I read the law AGAIN. Basically you are right,
but the recall has nothing to do with referendum 公投. It is only that both
recall and referendum in Taiwan have the same requirement with regard to
voter turnout (that is, more than 50% registered voters must vote).
In the wesite of Central Election Commission, Taiwan (www.cec.gov.tw), there
is 選舉法規 in the left column. Click it and find "總統副總統選舉罷免法 (
2006/09/07)" where "第 76 條 罷免案經中華民國自由地區選舉人總額過半數之
投票，有效票過半數同意."
