Two American market research companies, Gartner and IDC, disclosed
prelimiary data for Q2, 2008. (1) Worldwide computer sale increased 16%
compared to the same period last year. (2) Apple computer sale in US
increase, either neck and neck (according to IDC) or surpassing (according
Gartner) Acer.

(2) The last paragraph indicated that Acer sale in US shrank "20.80%" in Q2,
2008, compared with the same period a year ago. The reason: (a) Acer
completed purchase of Gateway in December, 2007. (b) The sale figure a year
ago was addition of both Acer and gateway. (c) Inevitably, some customers (
in this case 20% of the combined company) of either companies shop elsewhere
