to visit US as well as Japan before inauguration. US hinted Mr. Ma should
withdraw the request, which Ma did. At the same time, his camp told the
media that US had promised to make up for the unceremonial rebuff, by
treating him nicely in his future stopovers, anticipated in August when
Taiwan allies would have inaugurations. That was another lie.
