It is like a blind person compensated with other faculties. I don't know if
there is any research in this aspect to prove or disprove it. But I recall a
blind person, an American, wrote that other faculties might not actually
enhanced but that they had been there before but were not needed when
eyesights were good.
Anyway, my past experience with new languages prepared me for more new
languages. Cantonese was my mother tongue. The cloest neighbors were a

发源自台湾的阶梯英语在大陆很火暴啊，少儿英语等级考试都用这个公司编纂的教材，
所以忽然有奇想是不是在台湾有比较特别的环境可以学E文。
不过您的经历显然不具有普遍性。
另外《红楼梦》这部小说基本上只有掌握汉字的人才有可能真正领会，还没有一位翻译
能达到曹雪芹一半的造诣。虽然只有2/3流传，但内涵简直是震撼古今，比如里面的建
筑学。 |
