第7届夏季奥林匹克运动会
the summer olympic games of 1920
第七届奥林匹克运动会于1920年4月12日至9月12日在比利时的
安特卫普举行。
当时正值第一次世界大战结束，人们又开始了和平的生活，顾拜
旦马上全身心地投人到战后首届奥运会的筹办工作中去。战争虽然使
奥林匹克运动遭受损害，但爱好和平的人们仍然对奥林匹克运动充满
信心。当国际奥委会提出召开第七届奥运会时，马上就有三个城市申
请主办，他们是：匈牙利的布达佩斯、法国的里昂和比利时的安特卫
普。1918年国际奥委会决定由安特卫普承办。
安特卫普是比利时的一个省城，跨斯海尔德河两岸，为欧洲北部
贸易中心，是世界的大港之一。第一次世界大战期间，安特卫普遭到
了严重的破坏，战争结束后，人们开始重建家园。
当第七届奥运会决定在安特卫普举行时，人们满怀热情地支持政
府的建设活动。在广大市民们的支持下，一座能容纳3万人的体育设
施在安特卫普建成了，第七届奥运会如期举行了。
参加本届奥运会的有来自29个国家和地区的2607名运动员。当时
国际形势的变化使奥运会参加国的资格问题也明显地受到影响，国际
