第二十六届夏季奥林匹克运动会
the summer olympic games of 1996
奥运百年只为赚钱中国领衔第二集团
1996年是现代奥运的百年诞辰，7月19日至8月4日在美国亚特兰
大举行的第26届奥运会实现了奥运家庭的大团圆。
本届比赛中设26个大项271个小项，共有来自世界197个国家和地
区的10788名运动员参加了各项比赛的角逐，各国选手经过17天的激
烈争夺共打破25项世界纪录。上述数字皆创造了奥运会历史上的新纪
录。
金牌榜上，美国、俄罗斯、德国分获前三，中国代表团面对种种
不利条件，团结拼搏，获得了16金22银12铜的可喜成绩，金牌、奖牌
榜均列第四，实现了冲击第二集团首位的预定目标。此外，中国代表
团还有两人4次打破4项世界记录，乒乓球襄括4金。值得一提的是，
中国代表团的男运动员们经过不懈努力，突破性地夺得7金9银5铜，
向世界展现了我国男子运动员的实力。香港和中国台北运动员在此次
奥运会上分别夺得一金一银。
亚特兰大奥运会给人留下的一个最深的印象是，赚钱是最终目标
而不是实现目标的手段。有成千上万的人都想趁本届奥运会发财。失
败者恐怕是奥运会本身。
