spin |

146 | 15 Overall motion is very good and streamlined. Your hitting point and timing
are all great. But you should have shoulder turn while you make your
forehand swing - that's the fundamental difference between court tennis and
table tennis, I think. Once you have that coordination integrated with your
current basics, both your forms and power will be even better!
I'm learning as well.

I have this problem too. when should shoulder turn happen? before and after
contacting ball, so turning shoulder to add power and speed?
btw, I watched your video,

I couldn't really understand well about both "shoulder turn" and "follow
through" until I start watching those slow motion videos showing how FF hit
his forehand (backhand in particular, my fav!).
Very often I heard people saying that my "引拍不够“. Actually, if you pay
more attention to FF's pull back, you will find he does it very little or
none! Most time, he started forehand swing while the racquet was just
reaching his right hand side, no further pull back at all. He generates the
power by pulling back his right shoulder a bit and then quickly throwing his
right breast/shoulder both forward and upward. In the mean wile, his
racquet is also doing the backward first then forward motion. But the
racquet motion lags behind the shoulder/breast a little bit.
After hitting the ball, you still keep turning your shoulder and racquet,
with your left food as a pivot. I usually turn my shoulder till it points to
my opponent. That way, your racquet head will somehow turn to your far left
facing down.
That's exactly how I played my first video.
It will be easier to get the overall feeling if you pointing your racquet
head to your opponent while pulling it back to your right hand side. Turn
your shoulder and then let the racquet go afloat.
