It loses much tension after 2,3 hours of hitting. But the string bed doesn't
become dead/low powered as most of other polys. It just become even more
powerful. I think it's probably a good string for cold weather. |

One question for the poly string. It loses tension relatively quickly. As I
know, lower tension results in more power and less control. But why do I
feel I have less power now on my string which was put on my raquet on August
? The forehand makes the ball falling shorter than before. Is it the reason
of court temperature or ball pressure?

very low powered, even it loses tension.
when it gets cold outdoors/temperature drop, it become even more lower
powered. Say if i play 55lbs main string during summer 80F degree, I
probably will string it 50lbs to play at 50F degree, in order to get
similar level of power.

The reason for low power feel on poly string are:
1. Poly goes dead quickly.
2. Temperate drop

I think it's the most powerful poly that I've ever played.
Yesterday when temperature drop to around 50F degree in the evening, I still
get pretty decent power off my serve, good power from forehand, good
control from slice backhand and good feel from my dropshot. And it's very
comfortable in cold weather.I'm going to buy 4 additional sets from Midwest
Sports (right now on sale, $6.79/set).
Anyone who likes to play with soft poly and who used to have elbow problem
must try this string.

playing. I know the feeling, but why is that? What's the reason behind this
"dead" feeling?
is it because after series of snap back, the string surface gets damaged so
it doesn't snap back as good as fresh ones? (just random thinking)
*PS this is the reason I like BHB7, when it feels dead, I know it will break
soon where other poly, it still take sometimes to break it when it feels
dead... too WSN to cut it

snapping back as quickly as when its fresh.
I play with <$2 a set poly now and cut frequently. no way for me to pay >$5
a set for poly as a WSN.

50磅，在60F以下的室外打。下次再穿一个高磅的，在室内打试试看。
这个线打到后来的确走线，有时要用手把中间几根线掰正。但不知为何控制(topspin)
和发球的power都非常好。我用它发球感觉比用RPM blast更快些。

tension. It feels so low powered. Or it feels like the surface on the moon,
hard as rock, when hitting ground stroke or hitting serve. So I traded it
and never went back with Volkl anymore.

46 lbs on a 16x19 95 would be looser than on a 18x20 95. It would feel
between the Volkl and Wilson.

发帖数: 6757 | 30 Volkl c10 pro 98 beam is only 20mm thus you mean feel lack the power. It has
a very fast swing though which compensate the lack of power from the
racquet itself. And because of the thinner beam it is very easy to maneuver.
It's one of the classic.
The one I tried is Super G10 325, similar beam but much thicker. It still
will be a very different feel compare to prestige though. I tried migrocel
prestige 18x20 before, slice is super good, but not much power, the feel is
similar to the wilson 6.1 95, but wilson has better plow through.

Prestige has much better control. It might be different case if one
manipulate with different string or with newer version of 6.1 95, but I
doubt it.
I tried many versions of prestige MP. Prestige MP has lower power than
prestige pro. To me, prestige pro's spin generation and power are the right
balance .

I find this similar to my 6.1, but bit more forgiving, and easier to flick
though. Similar to 6.1, it's very good for slice. I don't find much power in
neither prestige nor 6.1, both require player to apply the power, where i
find the super G10 and pure control tour, the power comes a lot easier. I
would say prestige and 6.1 are both good racquets, but it's a bit too
advanced for me at this point.

I think the reason that you feel prestige pro is too low power is probably
the string/tension comes with the demo.
You can try low tension poly or hybrid in this racquet, and you may like it
. The racquet feels pretty crisp.
With your excellent form of core rotation and swing, you can generate your
own power. IMO, no need to go for a more powerful racquet.

My understanding of KennyD's drop and lob is a type of play style that build
on "dropshot" or simple pop the ball back short to get the opponent to the
net, then lob them. There are a lot more other racquets that are more
suitable for this type of play than 6.1 or prestige.

If I only do hard hitting, my NTRP level is much lower than my current
level.
All rackets can do dropshot. Some rackets are just harder to do it.

The best racket to lob I found so far is Dunlop 200G, 85 sq in, stiffness
39. You just need to hit high and it will never go out...
