M******0 发帖数: 1280 | 1 My experience from pingpong, it should be loose. I playing pingpong when I
was little,横拍, as I blush top spin (拉弧旋) no way you can do it if
holding the grip tight. You need the little movement of the bat in the hand
to create extra rotation (in addition to the wrist rotation) before contact
and the little movement to let go after contact. Only at the contact, the
bat is tightly hold for that fraction of a moment. I feel tennis top spin is
similar, if you holding the racket really tight, it is hard to brush top
spin. But if you are hitting flat shot with close stance, you can do it by
holding your racket really tight.
The other thing I feel is tight grip leads to tennis elbow while loose grip
leads to broken wrist.
How do you think? |
K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 2 It all depends on how heavy your racket is.
Nobody other than Federer/Laver etc who has iron wrist can use wrist
using heavy racket. It's natural to hold tight. It's a way to prevent
injury.
A lot of wsn can use wrist when using a 10 oz racket. Without using it
your ball is so lack of pace or spin.

"A lot of wsn can use wrist when using a 10 oz racket."
-you shouldn't be using wrist to hit the ball anyways, power mainly comes
from legs, hips, and back. you keep wrist loose so you can transfer that
power into the shot. The tighter your grip, the more injury prone you are...

-very misleading statement

that it allows the wrist to do the work better.

b*********s 发帖数: 6757 | 5 even when you volley you need to keep your grip loose. Often you hear you
need to have a firm wrist when volley, it's actually just firm enough you
don't break your wrist as in during the contact your wrist doesn't flip back
and let the racket head fall below your wrist high. But on the scale of
loose and tight, it's still close to the loose side.

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 6 Yes, you can't generate enough racket head speed with a RF97.
Take a look how Date Krumm hits the ball with 13.5 oz racket.

M******0 发帖数: 1280 | 7 Yeah, volley is a perfect example, only a little tighter when contact.

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 8 It's no rocket science really. When the racket gets heavy enough, eventually
everybody will have firm wrist.
Take a look how people use sledge hammers (the real ones).
Take another look how people use 苍蝇拍。

with open string and stiffness 76.

strong forearm, why no top 10 years old jr use such racquet?

K****D 发帖数: 30533 | 12 It's too powerful for tour pros, causing a lot of balls out.
For 10 year old, it's too big for them. The racket head touches the ground
all the time. Most young kids do use shorter oversize to help them with
power though.

I use more powerful rackets against higher opponents though.
I may try Ti.S6 etc in doubles someday.
