doubles. How do I avoid being bumped up accidentally? On one hand there are
almost no 4.5 teams in my area, on the other hand I am not good enough.

发帖数: 169 | 11 Your 3.0 team captain should be more worried than you. Here is what I know
and hope it is helpful.
If we are going to play against you, my team captain will definitely notice
you from the list because of the "self-rated" mark on your head. That is the
job of a captain.
He will dig into histories, news, google, whatever to understand if you are
a sand-bagger.
He is going to watch how you play and very likely to fire a complain if you
win easy-and-big.
100% for sure, He is going to fire a complain if we lost to you 2-3.
So:
1. Don't win big. (somebody calls it magic-7 rule: the totally games you won
can not be or more than 7. for example: 6:2-6:3 is not good, try to make it
at least 6:3 6:3)
2. Think again if you have a long and shining history: My captain
successfully de-qualified a 18+ 3.5s guy after he found out he used to play
high-school tennis thanks to google/facebook.
If you are (1) playing in 3.5 (2) won games there (3) self-rated, then the
other captain will 100% not let you go with a win easily. |

发帖数: 221 | 12 大家都太小题大做了吧？ －－ 我们club里很多人都3.0/3.5 或3.5/4.0 地同时两个
team打，P事儿没有。 倒是去年有一个3.0s只打3.0比赛的，被bump up了并导致队里损
失惨重（他赢的比赛都被reverse了）。
结论： 你同时打3.0/3.5没关系。你赢比赛（singles）的数量和质量显然很有关系。
如果不想进3.5，就不要大比分赢所有的比赛（suppose you are able to）。 水平真
高的话，多整到tie-breaker或3-setter不难吧？
当然，如果赢了所有的比赛，即使比分咬得紧也还是会被bump up。 所以不管3.0还是3
.5的比赛，别逮谁赢谁就是了。 队里总分占优的比赛，可以放放水。 你那一分对队里
关键的比赛争取拿下。

其实，我真看不懂你纠结啥 －－ unless 。。。
认认真真打比赛，不管输赢好好enjoy，多好啊？
为什么上来先想着如何crook the system呢？ －－ 3.0里面的老油子，你已经有把握
稳赢？ 并且还想继续在他们的圈子里纠缠？
听起来都象是世上本无事，庸人自扰之。 如果你能轻松赢他们，那被bump到3.5也不
是什么不好的事儿。 如果没把握赢这里面的老油子，并且enjoy跟他们拼，那你worry
什么被bump up呢？
－－sorry, 不是对你有任何偏见，只是不能理解你的worry 而已 :)

is they got into nationals last year. |

发帖数: 169 | 17 team和team的风格有很大的区别，我这里Captain来拉拢你时会说的很清楚，这是一个
social team (主要是为了打完喝啤酒) 还是一个competitive team (奔 playoff)。
team的风格会决定Captain的人员安排和功课。不知道其它地方怎么样，我所在的几个
team的Captain在比赛以前的email里，会列出对方大概的实力情况，肯定包括是否有
self rate的球员和以前high level退下的球员。当然，social team的captain主要提
醒大家带啤酒+零食。 |
