GALVESTON — A prosecutor known for his tough prosecution of drunken drivers
has resigned following his arrest on the same charge last month, Galveston
County District Attorney Jack Roady said Thursday.
The resignation of Lester Blizzard came after Roady suspended him without
pay in the wake of his New Year's Eve arrest in Galveston on a charge of
driving while intoxicated. Roady said Blizzard resigned Jan. 7.
Roady recused his office from Blizzard's case to avoid a conflict of
interest. The Brazos County District Attorney's Office is handling the case.
