GALVESTON - The city of Galveston will begin charging for parking on the
seawall Saturday, officials said Wednesday.
The fees will be $1 per hour, $8 daily and $25 for an annual pass. Payments
can be made by a smartphone application or with prepaid cards that can be
purchased from merchants on the island.
Paid parking areas on the seawall are on the north and south sides of
Seawall Boulevard from Sixth Street to 69th Street and from 81st Street to
