发帖数: 838 | 1 At approximately 9:00 am this morning, there was a shooting at a business
located in the City of Sugar Land near the intersection of Industrial Blvd.
and Jess Pirtle Blvd. Between 9:00 am and 9:30 am, as a precaution, the
FBISD schools in the immediate area of the investigation and the FBISD
Distribution Center were instructed to shelter in place until 11:15 am. The
schools in close proximity to the active police investigation were Lakeview
Elementary, Sugar Mill Elementary, Sugar Land Middle School and MR Wood
Center for Learning. FBISD Police were immediately sent to each of those
campuses and the distribution center to provide immediate protection and
visibility. FBISD Police also maintained constant communication with Sugar
Land Police during the initial response and investigation of the incident.
At the point it was determined that suspects were not a threat to our
campuses, the shelter in place was lifted. FBISD Police Dispatch provided
continued and updated information to each campus administrative team during
the incident.
When schools are sheltering in place, the students are safe inside the
school building and normal instructional activities are taking place. The
perimeter doors to the building are locked. Shelter in place is different
than “Lockdown.” During a lockdown situation, normal instructional
activities are suspended, and students and staff have to remain behind
locked doors and stay in the classroom or other rooms where they are located
until the lockdown is removed. | M********s
