Friday:
– The H-E-B Austin Symphony 38th Annual July 4th Concert and Fireworks show
that is usually held at Auditorium Shores will be at Circuit of the
Americas this year due to renovations at the former site. Gates open at 4 pm
and there will be activities for the whole family before the concert at 8:
30 pm. Fireworks will start around 9:30 pm and the whole thing wraps up
around 10 pm. FREE!
– Cedar Park’s 4th of July Celebration will be at Elizabeth Milburn Park
from 4 – 10:30 pm. Free to attend, this party will have live music, dancing
, bingo, air castles, free watermelon and fireworks. Fees apply for food
concessions, face painting, carnival games, hamster balls, super slide and
more. You can also cool off in Milburn pool, admission rates will apply.
– The Red, White and Blue Weekend kicks off at Dell Diamond where you can
enjoy two nights of Bud Light fireworks after Friday & Saturday’s Round
Rock Express games. On Sunday, take advantage of the $25 Picnic Special
where you’ll get a ticket for the game, hot dogs, hamburgers and
refreshments.
Saturday:
– Have an Awesome Animal Morning at Millie & Mox where kids can pet, hold
and learn about tiny animals like bunnies, chinchillas, lizards and
ducklings, for free! They can also get a free picture of them and their new
animal pal. Starts at 10 am.
– Take the Bertram Flyer on the Austin Steam Train and enjoy a 3-hour
journey to the town of Bertram. Cross highways, span the South San Gabriel
River on the wooden trestle bridge and roll through pastureland. Step off in
Bertram for a 15-minute layover and tour the fully restored 1912 train
depot. Departs at 10 am, tickets are $20 – $37 and you can buy them here.

– Catch a free screening of “Kung Fu Panda” playing at Alamo Drafthouse
Lakeline at 10 am. This is part of the free Alamo Kids Camp series. You
cannot reserve tickets, they are based on a first-come, first-serve basis,
so arrive around 30 minutes early.
– Design and create your own bubble wands and see who can create the
biggest bubbles at the Family Fun Saturday at French Legation Museum. Take a
tour of the historic house for just $5 and participate in this free
activity at 1:15 pm. Tours are free for children 5 and under.
Sunday:
– See the performance of the live-action graphic novel The Intergalactic
Nemesis- Robot Planet Rising, at the Long Center at 3 pm. This show started
in Austin in 2010 and has since toured the world and even made an appearance
on Conan O’Brien. Catch this show before the newest “issue” hits the
stage in September 2014. Tickets are $29 and you can buy them here. More

– Free First Sundays at Bullock Texas State History Museum will have
special family programming from 12 – 3 pm and free admission all day. This
Sunday will focus on energy and kids can learn about magnetism, kinetic
energy, join a story time and do special art projects.
– Get fresh produce, locally-sourced meat, cheeses, baked goods specialty
foods and more at the Mueller Farmers Market at the Mueller Browning Hangar
from 10 am – 2 pm. You can also peruse artisan goods from local vendors,
hear some live music and participate in community events, kid’s activities
and much more. Free to attend.
