来休斯顿前，朋友告诉我，那里没有trail可以hike。过来两周，粗粗安定下来，忍不
住要去爬山。山自然是没有，但意外地发现城北一小时路程有个Sam Houston National
Forest，有山有水，貌似不错。
Lone Star / Little Lake Creek Loop 合计12英里，爬升有些不好意思--325英尺。 |

It is cool now and time to go hiking!
Time: 12/06/2014 (Coming Saturday)
Hiking Trail: Sam Houston Forest
A loop of Lone Star Trail, Sand Branch Trail, and
Pole Creek Trail (Total will be around 10 miles)
About the trail: The Sam Houston National Forest, one of four National
Forests in Texas, is located 50 miles north of Houston. The forest contains
163, 037 acres between Huntsville, Conroe, Cleveland and Richards, Texas.
Hiking is a popular way to enjoy the forest and its beauty. This trail is
one part of the lone star hiking trail which is 128-mile.

Trial Head Parking(TH#4): Cord is N30 28.898 W95.41.838, use google maps app
on your smart phone for this.
Suggested restroom: Diamond Shamrock, 501 Eva St Montgomery, TX 77356
Plan:
1. 8:45am Gathering/arrange the carpool/heading for the forest (
Chinese Lutheran Church (西南国语教会) (12143 Bellaire Blvd, Houston,
77072). This is per help from our CEO Chen Xiang
2. 9:00am Leave for the forest
3. 10:30am Gathering at TH#4, warm up and start hiking
4. It will take around 6 hours to finish. We will have lunch during hiking.
5. Around 4:30-4:45pm we will be back to TH#1 and drive back to Chinatown to
have a big dinner(一起腐败).

Comments:
1. When you join the hiking, everyone should get yourself ready for that
include enough food and water/enough, rest/hiking shoes/long sleeves,trash
bag, covering arms and legs/emergency medicine if you need it or anything
else you might need in the forest. Also please have breakfast first before
gathering at the church.
2. Kind mention, there is no restroom is the forest and the range office,
please get yourself comfortable before hiking.
3. Please take some cash with you for dinner and gas. For gas sharing, we
recommend $5 to the driver.
4. Take sunscreen, off or anything you needed for protection
5. Recharge your phone well and prepare everything you need before hiking
6. Be on time
7. If you like join dinner only, you're welcome and please contact me
8. As there are poisoned pond in the forest and other potential risk, it is
strongly recommended that you'd better NOT take your pet during the hiking.
If you take, you must lead the tie all the time and you're responsible
anything happened to the pet yourself! |

境？树种都完全不一样，

sam houston真的很奇怪，有很多eastern sierra多见的针叶林. |

样，就没人抱怨环境差了，其他地方在这么小的范围里似乎没有这么大的差别，所以
woodlands才是suburban排名第一，可惜离中国城太远了

发帖数: 1841 | 17 南边靠海，气候会潮湿很多。像Freeport附近就有很多湿地。是看鸟、看鳄鱼的好地方
。每年冬天还会有Flamingo来过冬。也是hiking的好地方。
