Job Title: Organic Synthesis Assistant (16056)
Location: Pasadena TX, 77507
Emp. Type: 6+ Months Contract
Job Description:
The candidate will safely conduct organic syntheses in lab scale on daily
basis with minimal supervision.
The candidate will interact directly with research project leader to improve
and implement new ideas to discover new electron donors for Ziegler-Natta
catalysts.
Qualification:
MS in organic chemistry or BS in Chemistry with two years of organic
synthesis experience in the industry.
Must be innovated, safety and detail oriented.
Excellent in oral and written communication.
Proficient or familiar with: Multi-step organic syntheses, H-NMR, GC-MS, IR,
HPLC, automated chromatography (Biotage system preferred), AccelrysDraw (or
compatible drawing program), Search Databases (SciFinder, SiRius, or
equivalent), Distillation, Moisture sensitive sample handling, Rotovaporizer
(rotovap), Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Knowledge in
modeling is a plus.
